Philadelphia, PA, September 10, 2011: The Steuben Day Observance Association is proud to announce the 2011-2012 Philadelphia Kornblumen Königin and her Court. This year’s court consists of Miss Christina Brenner, Kornblumen Königin; Miss Julia Duffield, First Princess; and Miss Chelsea Parks, Second Princess.

                The German-American Steuben Parade will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, where the Queen and her court will lead the parade as it marches down Frankford Avenue in Mayfair in Northeast Philadelphia.

                These young ladies are ambassadors for the German-American community at various festivities around the Philadelphia region throughout the year. More information about the Parade can be found at http://phila.steubenparade.com.

                This year’s queen selection contest took place at the 139e at the 139e at the 139^th Cannstatter Volksfest celebration over the Labor Day weekend. Approximately 5000 guests came out Sunday to celebrate their heritage, enjoying authentic German (Schwäbische Spezialtäten) and American food, drink, and entertainment. The day began with the traditional Opening Parade to the Fruit Column, a masterpiece of craftsmanship designed and built with fresh fruits and vegetables.
