DAVID JAMES ROSCOE Notice

It is with great sadness that our Association has learned of the passing of our friend and colleague, David J. Roscoe. David was a long time educator and volunteered his services for many years to support the Cannstatter Volkfest Verein and our Association. We will miss his insights, counsel, and friendship. Please keep David's family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this this time of loss.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service Sunday, 2 P.M., at Bryn Athyn Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations to the Academy of the New Church; Bryn Athyn New Church, or the Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein.

German Day 2015 will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 on the grounds of the Cannstatter Volksfest Verein, 9130 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA. This event sponsored by Steuben Day Observance Association is a fundraiser for our annual activities. That's correct, Saturday not Sunday as we have decided to try something new. Updates will be posted at www.germanday.info as they are finalized. A full day of entertainment for the whole family is being planned!

The time of year for us to begin our search for the next “Miss German America of Philadelphia” is here!

We are looking for young women between the ages of 18-25 to represent our community at various German-American events, to reign over our Philadelphia Steuben Parade, and to represent us at the Steuben Parade in New York City.

The three finalists will receive scholarship money in addition to other prizes. Won’t you please help us in our search?

It is with great sadness that our Association has learned of the passing of our friend and colleague, Carol J. Ebinger. Carol spent many years supporting various German-American organizations and our Association, most recently as Recording Secretary and longtime Band Chairlady. We will miss her counsel, expertise and friendship. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this this time of hardship and loss.

The Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 29th, at 11:00a.m. at Kevin Lyons Funeral Service, 202 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036 Friends may call Sunday, December 28th, from 6-9 p.m. and Monday from 9-10:45a.m. at Kevin Lyons Funeral Service, 202 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036.
